Phase: Active Demolition
Reported by: Christine Lord, Luxure Lifestyle
The project is back in full motion this week after a brief pause, and the progress made on site reflects a team that is focused and working with intention.
Demolition advanced significantly across the residence, design decisions are actively being refined, and key trade coordination is complete. The week also brought meaningful progress on the building relationship, with official approvals received that allow the project to move forward exactly as planned.

Demolition
Flooring has been removed in the primary bath, Her Closet, library, living room, kitchen, and pantry. All cabinetry has been removed from the primary bath and kitchen. The island remains on site temporarily to support the team while working on site, with all appliances and items cleared from it. All appliances have been relocated to the garage for safekeeping, with the exception of the kitchen refrigerator which remains in place. All baseboards have been carefully removed, numbered, and are being staged in the garage for safekeeping. The pantry is fully cleared. The laundry room demolition is complete. Remaining cabinets are staged inside the unit and will be removed once the dump trailer returns to site.
Cabinet Coordination
Christine and Tom walked the full unit together with all cabinet drawings laid out room by room, reviewing every single cabinet design in every room and going over the complete scope of work. The purpose was to ensure that the plumbing scope, the electrical scope, and the cabinet drawings were fully aligned with one another, that every detail was accounted for, and that nothing was missing before locking in the timeline. Field measurements were taken following demolition, and actual site conditions required several adjustments to the drawings. Final revisions have been requested from the cabinet team.
This was a particularly significant week for the kitchen. During demolition, it became clear that building the kitchen out to the bump-out would allow the entire wall to read as one clean, flush line, with the countertop running straight through without interruption. Elyse reviewed this with Christine and formally signed off on the decision. The trade-off is nine inches on the refrigerator wall, which Elyse accepted in order to achieve the clean, continuous line in the kitchen. That revision has been requested and is being incorporated into the updated drawings.
For all painted cabinet finishes, Fabuwood works with both Sherwin-Williams and Benjamin Moore, giving us the flexibility to match any color direction precisely. The laundry room cabinets have been confirmed in Antique White by Sherwin-Williams, SW 6119.
Separately, Elyse is in the process of determining her final cabinet color direction for the primary bath vanity. Christine has ordered a sample of the Allure Luna Truffle finish for her review, and a decision will follow once the sample is received and evaluated.
